Blind Fate

Stevie was born blind and abandoned by his mother. A mother ewe knows when their babhas a physical deformity and for some reason will abandon them. Stevie was part of a flock of sheep from a farm that raise ewes and rams for meat. Although he tried, he couldn’t keep up with the pasturing. Finding his way was much too difficult without the guidance he needed. Donna at Amazing Grace was asked if she could take the little blind ram and there was no hesitation with her reply.

The little lamb became Stevie and bonded immediately with Donna. She became his eyes and his adopted mother. Stevie would follow Donna everywhere ahe learned his surroundings. She watched his once tilted head straighten and his footing become more secure. He started training with a bell that Donna would wear on her pants. Stevie could hear the bell  and know just where she was at all times. Donna also used the clapping of her hands to draw attention. Stevie, like humans, adjusted and became very comfortable in his new home.

Today he lives in his own little paddock with his best buddy frosty who now wears the bell. Frosty is Stevie’s seeing eye sheep and best friend. Stevie has a gentle and loving spirit. He runs to the fence when he hears someone close by. He’s a sweet, sweet little boy who loves to be read to, loves back rubs and is here with us today because of blind fate.
