Amazing Grace Animal Sanctuary
A Tribute To Paul Stewart
“If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans.”
— James Herriot
On Sept 20, 2023, AGAS lost a dear, beloved mentor, director, and friend.
Paul Stewart
Paul Stewart was a strong advocate for AGAS and our animals. He and his wife Ronda were personal friends and Ronda was the thread that tied Paul to the farm. He wanted the farm to be a success because he wanted to see the dream become a reality but it gave Ronda a place to love and care for farm animals without it being at their homestead.
He served on the Board of Directors as our first treasurer and then as Vice President as he was one of the founders who believed in our mission. Paul never gave up on AGAS, instead, when the times were tough he forged onward till we overcame the setback.
Quiet by nature, Paul was always smiling and laughing whether he was picking up a hammer or working on the financials. His warm smile and the twinkle in his eye hid his strong feelings for ensuring the safety and care of the animals on the farm.
One of the noticeable projects Paul spearheaded was the goat activity center. He had so much fun working alongside his buddies creating an area for the goats and human children to climb on.

“How lucky were we to have known Paul and to call him friend.”

At our BOD meetings, when Paul spoke, people listened. His voice added clarity and reason. Our hearts broke with Paul’s passing and there is an emptiness felt at our farm events, board meetings, and social gatherings. We mourn because we loved. How lucky were we to have known Paul, to call him friend, and to have had his love in return. We will miss you dearly, Paul.
