Gronk
Gronk is a very handsome pig who joined Amazing Grace Animal Sanctuary in November 2019. He was an unusual fellow having resided in another person’s home for the 5 years, living like a king and running the household. It seemed he was getting restless and bored as the family grew up and Mom went back to work. When he was left alone, he played detective and searched out the backpacks, closets and drawers for any mysterious objects of interest. It was decided that Gronk, [named after the famous NE Patriots Receiver, Rob Gronkowski], would be happier with more human or animal interaction.
He arrived at Amazing Grace and made himself right at home, taking over the rug in front of the woodstove, stealing all the blankets and settling in on the couch! He was a perfect gentleman and was very tidy with his housekeeping. We read books together during the winter months and he would venture out only to do his business. Soon the detective in him came alive and he began searching again for the candy drawers! We found many a candy box in his bed! We decided it was time for him to meet Henrietta and their friendship blossomed into a fabulous farm wedding with lots of attendees in 2022!
Henrietta
When Henrietta was a piglet, she had an unfortunate accident. Her mom rolled over on her and crushed her front leg. This made the sweet piglet damaged goods and unable to be sold for profit. She was fortunate to be taken home by a kind woman and raised as a house pet. Henrietta soon outgrew the house and home and was sent outside to live in a broken down shed with some chickens. Pigs are very social and want companionship. She began to wander the dirt road looking for a friend but instead of a playmate she came across a mean man who threatened to shoot her if she came back to his property. Don’t worry the story has a happy ending!
Henrietta came to Amazing Grace Animal Sanctuary and was loved by all of her new barnyard friends. She adores her new indoor home filled with blankets and straw. She did not think life could get any better until she met Gronk, a handsome pig twice her age and very dignified. They became best friends and joined hooves in marriage in 2022. Henrietta’s accident turned out to be a blessing.
