Archie the Pig

Buddy the Nigerian Dwarf Goat

Buddy, a charming little Nigerian Dwarf goat, found his way to Amazing Grace Animal Sanctuary after searching for a loving home for quite some time. He was known as the nomad of Sullivan N.H. He could be found regularly roaming house to house looking for food and attention. He was in search of a family that could love him forever. He once had a nice family who loved him very much, but their dog did not and eventually little Buddy’s ear was torn.

With his gentle spirit and a heartwarming smile that can brighten anyone’s day, Buddy quickly captured our hearts when he arrived around 2011; we believe he was about 2 years old then.

Buddy has been a special addition to the family. He’s sweet, gentle, laid-back and now livin’ the life. As a Nigerian dwarf goat, you won’t find him head–butting when you approach his small white head, instead, he’ll ask for a scratch behind his ears while he closes his eyes and cherishes his time with you.

As the sanctuary’s beloved official greeter, he has an incredible way of making everyone feel welcomed. Buddy also keeps himself busy with a heartfelt tour schedule, visiting schools, assisted living facilities, Cedarcrest Center for Children, and spreading joy during holiday walks in downtown Keene. His story is one of resilience and affection, reminding us all of the power of Love.

Gronk

Finn the Goat is Buddy's son.

Henrietta

Oliver Twist the Goat

Oliver twist was an orphan much like I was in 2016. One day my mother told me her life chnged, and a man was coming to bring me and my goat friend to a farm for a little while, so she could ger her life back together. I waited and waited by the fence, but I never saw her again.

Then one day, my friend did not get up and now I felt truly alone. A woman would come to visit me, and I would call to her each time she left. It was late fall and the farmer was taking his livestock to slaughter. Somehow, I escaped the first truck. The next week the farmer called the lady and asked if she wanted me before the next load. She came and got me. I loved my new home. Life was good but three months later she became sick and died.

I was alone again, I guess someone was watching out for me because then one day this loving lady came to get me and told me about Amazing Grace Animal Sanctuary. I love my life now and all my friends.

Thank you to all who support us at Amazing Grace!

Reuben

Reuben The Goat

Reuben arrived at Amazing Grace Animal Sanctuary in 2019, at the tender age of 5 days old. This little guy was found in the pasture alone and frozen. They didn’t know who his mom was and he needed immediate medical attention or he would die. He eventually lost the tips of his ears due to frostbite.

Once he was in our arms, it was time to get diapers and formula to bottle feed our little kid baby goat. Reuben lived in the house for 6 months, sleeping in a crib, playing on the furniture and snuggling in our arms. He loved going for rides in the car. He was so much fun and adorable especially in his outfits.

At six months old he was too big to live in the house so we had to transition him to the barn to live with the other goats. He shares a room with a buddy and Willie. At first he did not get along with the goats…he didn’t know what they were, as he grew up with humans and thought that’s what he was so it took a little time to settle in and act like a goat. He loves to go for hikes and jump on the rocks. Reuben still cuddles and we’re working on his Goat manners as he has a wild side to his fun loving personality.

“I wanted to thank you for the packet I recently received in the mail! My daughter, Emily has been sponsoring Gronk for the past year, as a birthday present for me. I would have to say, that was one of the best gifts I have ever received!

Take good care and thanks again!”
